from 27, both sides of road for aprox. 1.05 mi.
This from bank facing northwest. Known locally
as "Cliff Huckleberry".
Altitude: 1-1300 1 aprox.
Soil: Beep leafmold on top of sandstone.cliffs,
very moist. Everything grew very big and
lush.
Plant Community: Pine, oak, a few hemlock;
Epigaea repens, Gaultheria procumbens, Mitchella
repens and climbing fern. Where sandstone had
been cut into for the road, and exposed the
sandstone many things were seeding. Even one G.
b. appeared to be a seedling.
