soil thinly covering crumbling rock strata; in
chapdrral with Ceanothus cuneatus, Castanopsia
fchrysophylla var. minor and ArcTostaphylos
species. Plants 3 to 4 feet tall; leaves ligh%
green, shiny. The only Arctostaphylos in flowejri.V
