In rocky, quartzitic soil on N-facing slope with Quercus. Agave &
Juniperus. Tree-like shrub ca. 3 meters tall with smooth,
mahogany-colored bark; herbage, pedicels, calyx & drupe-like
fruits glandular pilose; corollas pink to rose-colored. Elev. 4275 ft.
