Terrestrial shrub with branches to 2.5 m; stems
angled; floral bracts dark red; pedicels and
calyx pale yellowish-green; lower 3/4 of corolla
bright red, upper 1/4 plus limb and lobes white.
Common at higher elevations, but little in flower.
