Associates include Acer macrophyllum, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Arbutus menziesii, Populus trichocarpum, Polystichum munitum, Cytisus scoparius, Lathyrus, Rubus. Lat: 43° 49.490’ N Long: 122° 37.216’ W 967 feet Choroplast DNA sequences indicate that a PsbA-TmH insertion is present, and this specimen is therefore a member of the northern red alder clade (Brumble 2007).
