On banks of small creek feeding into Lochsa, above a culvert. Associates include Abies grandis, Pinus ponderosa, Cornus sericea, Gleditsia triacanthos Pseudotsuga menziesii. Lat: 46° 13.689’ N Long: 115° 26.743’ W 1753 feet Voucher specimen. Choroplast DNA sequences indicate that a PsbA-TmH insertion is absent, and this specimen is therefore a member of the southern red alder clade (Brumble 2007).
