ULMACEAE
Small tree 15fl tall, trunk diameter 3in, locally
common, flowers green, anthers white; branches
collected from low over a dirt road. At the edge of a
small, shrubby tropical hammock woodland remnant, in
sandy soil over oolitic limestone (Opalocka sand-Rock
outcrop complex; Sandy, siliceous, hyperthermic Lithic
Udorthents). Growing with Abrus precatorius, Ardisia
escallonioides, Bidens alba, Callicarpa americana,
Desmodium incanum, Jasminum fluminense(?),
Metopium toxiferum, Pithecellobium keyense (?),
Quercus virginiana, Rhus copallinum, Sabal palmetto,
Serenoa repens, Smilax bona nox, Smilax havanensis,
Toxicodendron radicans, Vitis rotundifolia, & Zamia
pumila. Along the N. side of an east-west-running dirt
road, Montgomery Botanical Center, Coral Gables,
Miami-Dade Co. Elev. about 15ft. 25° 39' 33.2"N, 80°
16' 55.6"W; UTM 17R 572052E, 2838141N
