Description
Pileus 5-9 cm broad, at first convex to a slight central depression in the center of which often is found a small, papillate umbo, becoming plane and finally, broadly and shallowly depressed. when young 10R 4/4 w a margin, 10R3/4 toward center and 10R 2/3 at center of disc; older matured, 2.5YR 6/3 at maargin, 10R 2/3 at center to 10R3/4 at center. one very young pilus close to 10R 2.5/2.5 overall; all pileus are minutely pruinose, minutely cercumferentially corrugate near margin, some also minute radial corrugate pattern near center. context: plae pinkish-buff almost immediately covered by latex when broken, later greyish (5YR 6/2.5). lamellae, close, moderately thin, broadly adnate, cream colored (7.5YR 7/5.5 to 10YR 8/4) stains brownish where bruised; ¸4 tiers of lamellulae. latex very copious, white, very sticky, mild, slowly becoming brownish. odor when cut, somewhat strong & penetrating. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
