Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of the portion of the Parque Estadual das Lauráceas that lies within the boundaries of the Municiplaiy Tunas do Paraná, in the Brazillian state of Paraná. Using Wikimapia visuallized the boundaries of the Municiplaiy Tunas do Paraná (verified with Geonames.org), and the Parque Estadual das Lauráceas (verified with a map of the park from a government website: [http://www.meioambiente.pr.gov.br/modules/conteudo/conteudo.php?conteudo=119]), and used the Wikimapia crosshairs to find coordinates (final) for the approximate geographic center of the overlapping region, and coordinates for the point within the overlapping region fartest from the selected centerpoint (-24.9443124, -48.6502504). Starting at the selected centerpoint, used Google Maps - Map View and Measure Distance tool to measure a straight line to the farthest extent point to estimate linear extent of the overlapping area. Input linear extent (4923.5 m), coordinate precision (0.00001 degrees), datum (WGS84), and measurement error (0.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: Defined area)
