Description
Pileus 2-5.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, finely subtomentose, dark purplish brown, soon brown. Flesh white, slowly and slightly pale pinkish when exposed, with mild odor and bitter taste. Tubes adnexed, white at first, then vinaceous pink, with pores staining brown when bruised. Stipe 3-9 cm long, 1-1.5 cm broad, equal to tapering downward, strict or curved, dry, not reticulate, glabrous, whitish at apex with purplish brown below when young, becoming brown with age, with interior white, unchanging, with white at the base.
