Description
Dark red (violet brown - 10F5) pileus (2-5 cm broad) and stipe (3-7 cm long, 5-9 mm broad), equal. Stipe is subvelutinous above and dark red (violet brown - 10F5), sometimes with a yellow ground at apex, matted fibrillose below, white at base, bruising blue to black. Yellow cyanescent flesh in pileus and stipe apex, deep rhubarb red toward base. Yellow cyanescent tubes, with red cyanescent pores.
