Description
Pileus 4-6.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, viscid when wet, soon dry, finely subtomentose to matted subtomentose, with even to perhaps a slightly projecting sterile margin. Flesh white, slightly water-soaked, with mild odor and tardily bitter taste. Tubes barely adnexed, white at first, then vinaceous pink, with fine concolorous pores. Stipe 4.5-5 cm long, 1-2 cm broad, equal and slightly broader below or, tapering downward, dry, finely scissurate to subgranulose-subpruinose nearly throughout, white above, light grayish ruby to darker grayish ruby (12D4) below, white at base, with interior white, solid, unchanging.
