  • Habitat

    Campo cerrado on upland (or occasionally forest). Open marsh or dense secondary forest along streams. This habitat: Abandoned cultivated field behind main house of fazenda. With dense growth of grasses & herbs 3-4 dm. tall. Originally cerrado vegetation. Soil poor, reddish-brown fine sand, with a little clay.

    Spreading branched herb, slightly woody base. Petals whitish, lightly tinged with buff, bright yellow in throat. Staminal column, & anthers yellow, style dark red. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
