Description
Pileus 44-61 mm, convex with incurved margin, becoming flattened convex with slightly uplifted, undulating margin; densely matted subtomentose, white to pale buff, becoming grayish orange (5B4) to golden blonde (5C4) in age. Context white, very slowly and faintly staining pale yellow brown or pale reddish brown. Odor faintly farinaceous; taste mild. Pores round to oval, 1-2 per mm, white becoming cream-colored, staining dark brown, tubes concolorous, short (less than 3 mm in length). Stipe 24-39 x 9-12 mm, equal to subclavate, solid, with similar coloration to pileus, but with dark brown pulverulence over upper half. Basal mycelium white.
