Description
Pileus 47-49 mm, convex, glabrous, bright reddish orange (7A7), drying to orange-tan; context pale yellowish white, turning pale red in NH4OH; taste bitter. Hymenium poroid; pores favoloid (angular, radially elongated, at least near stipe), (0.5-) 1-2 (-4) mm in diameter (in longest dimension), cream to pale orange (4A3-4A5); tubes and pores concolorous. Stipe 20-24 x 11-12 mm, solid, equal to slightly tapered toward base; minutely pruinose, bright orange (5A8-6A8) over pale yellow base; context white.
