  • Description

    Pileus 58 mm, convex becoming plane, densely matted subtomentose, tan to cocoa to pale henna (6D5-7E6), staining darker brown, especially at margin. Context white, staining very faintly red. Taste extremely bitter. Pores 2-3 (-4) per mm, white becoming pale pinkish, staining light brown. Tubes concolorous, 7 mm long, separating relatively easily from pileus. Stipe 10 x 51 mm, fibrous, solid, subclavate, reticulate, pale brownish yellow (5B3); reticulum pale brown. Pinkish spore deposit apparent at apex. Basal tomentum white.
