Description
Pileus 4.5-7.5 cm broad, plano-convex, dry, appressed squamulose becoming areolate on disc and appressed squamulose scaly toward margin, light yellow to pale yellow (4A4,3), with a slight sterile margin. Flesh tan, unchanging, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnexed, pale yellow, becoming dull yellowish green (olive), unchanging. Stipe 3.5-7 cm long, 1-2 cm broad, curved, equal or equal and slightly broader at base, sometimes pinched at the base, dry, white at apex, pale and dull yellow below, finely scabrous (white) at apex, becoming progressively more squamose downward with squamae coarser and larger below, sometimes recurved, with interior white becoming pale brownish yellow, fibrous and solid, with yellow mycelium at base.
