flvnerium saelttatum (Aubl.) P. Beauv.
Det. Risto Kalliola in AAU, November 1990
There are at least three morphological types of this species, my opinion of this sample is circled (the identification of the types is most reliable in the field, as many of the diagnostic features are drawn from the overall habit of the plants):
[l.Jbig type' with tall (up to 14 m), stout, unbranched culms round in transection, and with long and wide leaf-blades which often droop at their tips.
2.	’small type’ with ahorter (< 10 m), more alender and frequently branching culm* which are
oval in transection near the summit, with s patch of trichomes on the shesth below the leaf-blade, and with rigid, often cauleacent leaf-blades.
3.	'Intermediate type' with characteristics of both of the above-mentioned types.
4.	Ssmple quality does not sllow the above-presented distinction.
