Description
Pileus 7-9.5 cm broad convex to plano-convex, dry, subvelutinate, black to dark brown, with flesh white, unchanging, with pungent odor and bitter taste. Tubes yellowish white at first, staining pale brown, becoming vinaceous pink with age. Stipe 8-12 cm long, 1.5-2.5 cm broad, equal to slightly broader below, strict or curved, dry, finely subvelutinate and obscurely ridged, obscurely pale pink at apex at first, dark brown nearly overall below, with some lilac near base, white at base.
