North end of Eagle Hill ridge, along gravel entrance road to Humboldt Field Research Institute, west side of Dyer Bay, Steuben; 4 mile due south-southeast of junction of Smithville Road and U.S. Route 1. Elevation 200 feet. Glacial sand and gravel soils with acidic humus.
Coastal coniferous forest with Abies balsamea, Picea rubens, Prunus, Acer, Viburnum. Local, infrequent tree 7-10 feet tall; fruits immature.
