BOSQUE CADUCIF0LI0. Remnants of forest of Liquidambar macrophylla, Ulmus mexicana, Quercus spp., Meliosma alba, on steep slopes, partly cleared for coffee plantations.
Herb, to 2 m. tall, with weak stems. Flowers hanging, odor-Less; corolla pale yellow with 5-6 patches of purple spots and hairy pads at throat, the limb spreading or ± recurved; ovary orange at base, but this not visible in open flower; filaments bright purple; anthers darker blue-purple. Fruiti calyx 5_angled, green with 10 purple ribs, 5 more prominent.
