Guyana. Cara Creek, rocky island and adjacent banks; tributary of Kako River, near border with Venezuela.

Habitat
West end of island with large gravel bar and prone to scouring, east end of island wet forest rich in epiphytes.

Description
Small shrub to 1.5 m. Infructescence terminal, rachis bright red. Berry green. Entire plant covered in erect trichomes. Ant domatia present. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
