Description
Pileus 1-4 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, subrugulose to bumpy, subtomentose, becoming areolate, yellow ochre (5C7) to olive brown (4E7,6). Flesh pale yellow, unchanging, 7 mm thick, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnate to depressed, white at first, soon reddish gray (7C3), 1 cm long; pores concolorous, staining light brown. Stipe 1.5-4 cm long, 3-5 mm broad, ±equal but often pinched at base, strict or curved, dry, chrome yellow to deep chrome/cadmium orange overall or sometimes with a pink band in mid region, subpruinose to rarely and barely subscabrous, with yellow mycelium at base.
