Location
El Salvador. Santa Ana. Close to the Hacienda San Diego which lies about 3 km. south of the town of Metapan in low hills to the east of Lago de Guija.

Habitat
Scattered in pastures and fencelines in an area of highly degraded dry forest with Albizia caribaea, Swietenia humilis, Cordia and Thoudinidium decandrum. Frequent.

Description
Large tree to 20 m. ht. with a spreading crown and heavy branching; dbh 1 m. Bark dark blackish grey with shallow vertical fissuring and horizontal stretch marks. Foliage recently flushed and immature feathery, delicate mid green. Abundant flowers with a heady sweet scent, corolla and calyx greenish yellow stamen filaments cream-white, anthers yellowish. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
