Description
Tree 9 m. Petals 6, pink to dark purple, white near base. Androcial hood and ligule pink. Stamens, style and staminal ring white, anthers yellow, staminodes pink to purple. Sepals 6 green. Fruit young, green, lenticellate. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Collection Notes
Construction wood. Inner bark is peeled and used to make hammocks en panniers (draagmand), and the sap (after chewing) is swallowed against diarrhea and stomach ache.
