Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson) Fosberg	Moraceae
Jamaica, Bluefields Bay, South coast of western tip of island, Bluefields Village on grounds of the Bluefields House plantation. N 18° 10’ W 78° 1’ (map reading) along small unpaved road north of village, 40 m.
Large tree, 1.5-2 m dbh, tree in decline (where old branches have died blue paint has been applied to seal tree from rot and disease); fruit, flesh yellow (yellow heart variety), leaf surface smooth, except hairs along midrib.
Reported to be the “Capt. Bligh Tree” an original individual brought on HMS Providence (subsequent to the HMS Bounty mutiny) to Jamaica in 1781 chronicled in The Voyage of the Plant Nursery, H.M.S. Providence, 1791-1793 by Dulcie Powell. Plantation owned by Frank Berry, present occupant Tracy Ann Richards.
