Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to 2 km upstream Rio Mocoões from the city of Anajás in Mun. Anajás, Ilha de Marajó. Using Google Earth and Google Maps - Satellite View, located where Rio Mocoões meets the city of Anajás, which is at the mouth of Rio Mocoões (confluence of Rio Mocoões and Rio Anajás). Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure approximately 2 km (2.00393 km) upstream (north) from the mouth of the river. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the offset, on the adjacent shore (collection assumed to be terrestrial). Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to find the linear extent of the starting location by measuring from the approximate geographic center of the confluence of Rio Mocoões and Rio Anajása to the farthest extent of the confluence. Input coordinates, linear extent (595.624 m), measurement error (.001 m), and distance precision (100 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
