Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to an offset of approximately 4 km west of the intersection of Rio Piriá and road Bragança - Viseu in Mun. Viseu, Pará. Used Google Maps - Earth View to find the road which connects the cities of Bragança and Viseu, BR-308. Located where this road intersects Rio Piriá, at the city of Curupati. Beginning at this location, used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to measure approximately 4 km (4.0 km) westward along road BR-308; used the Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the approximate offset along the road. Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool again to find the linear extent of the starting location, in this case the approximate linear extent of the city of Curupati (which includes the intersection of Rio Piriá and road BR-308) by measuring from the approximate geographic center of the city to the farthest extent of the city, using visual evidence to determine this. Input coordinates, linear extent (1.450 m), measurement error (.01 km), and distance precision (1 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
