Belize. Toledo. Savanah between the Southern Highway and abandoned village of Chun Bank, ca. 1 mile SW of the Bladen river.

Habitat
Flat terrain, frequently inundated, and burned. Growing with: Quercus, Pinus, Acoelorraphe, Byrsonima, Clethra, Clidemia and many grasses and sedges.

Description
Shrub ca. 1 m tall, stems mostly unbranched growing vertically and diffuse, leafless below, brown pubescent; petals whitish, anthers purple; fruit turning dark purple. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
