Middle slope on steep W edge of Cerro Grande, a massive limestone plateau 18-50 km NW of Colima, overlooking Arroyo Pitahayas and the valley between San Pedro Toxín and El Sauz, along transect from (and 1.4 km due E of) Los Encintos to the antennas on the upper W edge of C.G., 7 km (airline distance) due NW of El Terrero.

Good quality deciduous forest ("bosque tropical caducifolio"? no es bosq. mesofilo).
