  • Georeferencing Method

Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the approximate midpoint of the road which connects the city of Monte Dourado to Caracurú in Almeirim, Pará, in accordance with other locality descriptions. Using Google Maps - located the unnamed road which serves to connect the city of Monte Dourado and the area of Caracurú. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line starting at the beginning of this road (intersection of this unnamed road and the road which connects the cities of Monte Dourado and Munguba) to the end of this unnamed road (where it reaches the approximate area of Caracurú), then halved this distance to approximate the location of the midpoint of the road. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the approximate midpoint of the road. Input coordinates, linear extent (distance from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the segment of the road, 19500.0 m.), and measurement error (.1 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
