Description
Dwarf shrub (?). 30–50 cm with spread of 50–100 cm; tough, brittle stems, hemispherical form. Leaves 10–15x5 mm. margins entire, armoured and with spines at the tip, margins distinct white, wrinkled appearance, mature leaves dark green, young leaves pale green. Flower, pungent aroma, purple, 5 petals, tubular, 10 mm long; flowers "expell" when touched, hang by stigma on the leaves. Bee pollinated. Occasional native. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
