    Lower montane forest on mild to steep slopes, dense where indisturbed. Canopy ca. 12 m., dominated near summit by Melastomatac., Rubiac., Myrsinac., Clusiac. and Protium.

    Little-btanch4ed coarse herb, flowers and fruits (sub-)terminal, pendent. Flowers deep, glossy green tinged with maroon. Fruit globose, pale green tinged with red. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
