  • Georeferencing Method

Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to northwest shore of Lago Tefé in Amazonas, BR. Using Google Maps, located Lago Tefé. First, located the land adjacent to the geographic center of Lago Tefé, on the western shore. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure from that location to the farthest extent north of the lake; then halved this distance to approximate the location of the northwest shore. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the northwest shore of Lago Tefé. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to measure from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the lake. Used linear extent as uncertainty radius.
