Description
Unbranched or sometimes 1-branched treelet, 3--5(-6) m tall. Leaves to 80 x 50 cm, lobed, ovate in outline; blades truncate at the base, sometimes decurrent to 1 inch onto petiole; petioles 12-22 cm. Stipules light green, triangular or lanceolate to oblong-oblanceolate, 4-7 x 1.3-4.5 cm. Floral bracts oblong, c. 12-15 x 3-4 mm, greenish. Infructescences sessile. Fruits 3-4 x 2.5-3 cm, immature seeds with testa yellow to reddish. Calyx greenish or creamish, spathaceous, tube c. 5-10 mm, lobe 1-3.2 cm. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
