  • Georeferencing Method

Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. There are two Mauá roads in Manaus. Unsure which road to georeference to, so instead georeferenced to the geographic center of Manaus. Manaus is comprised of a densely populated metropolitan area to the south and open space/wilderness to the north. Georeferenced to the geographic center of the city, but made sure uncertainty radius encompassed entire area considered to be Manaus. Using Google Maps, located city of Manaus, Amazonas. Using visual evidence, located the geographic center of the city of Manaus. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates. Used measurement tool (Google Maps) to measure linear extent from the geographic center of the city to the outskirts of Manaus. Used linear extent as uncertainty radius.
