Habitat
Dry forest. With Miconia spp., Phyllanthus, Charianthus, Lisianthius, Euphorbia, Oreopanax, Lantana, and Heterotrichum. Locally common. On limestone.

Description
Small tree to ca. 2.5 m tall. Petals, filaments, and style red. Anthers yellow, drying brown. Flowers visited by bees and hummingbirds. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
