Terrestrial System. Forested Uplands-Hemlock-northern hardwood forest at edge of freshwater marsh, soil very moist, Osmunda cinnamomea and Osmunda regalis abundant.

Description
Shrub 2.3 m tall, stems several, forming small thicket, the largest stem ca 4 cm diam; bark brown, scaly in short, longitudinal, narrow strips; fruit brown, long-persistent. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
