    Mixed forest of Tsuga canadensis, Pinus strobus and various deciduous species, esp Acer rubrum, Betula alleghaniensis and Fagus grandifolia.

  • Description

    Shrub 2 m tall; stems several, the largest ca 2.5 cm diam; bark smooth, brown; the upper branches pseudo-verticillate, spreading; the leafy twigs ascending and erect; flowers pink and lightly fragrant, the tube dark pink and the limb light pink, lobes somewhat recurved with undulate margins. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
