Habitat
Tropical moist forest, heavily disturbed. Infrequent.

Description
Many-branched tree, 7 m tall, 30 cm dbh. Inflorescences and infructescences from branches only (none from the trunk). Corolla yellow, fragrant from bud, the petals widely divergent to reflexed. Calyx green, sepals 2-4. Fruits brown, smooth, lenticellate, obovate when immature to ± elliptic and ca. 8 x 6 cm at maturity; pulp yellow; 1-seeded, the embryo white. Phenology of specimen: Flower and Fruit.
