To find offset at 1 km. south of geographic center of Serra do Araçá: input coordinates, linear extent (13486.3 m.), measurement error (.1 m.), offset direction (S), and offset distance (1000 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the offset coordinates. Next, used Google Maps to locate Rio Jauari nearby, along the same approximate latitude as the coordinates. Used distance measurement tool to measure a straight line (horizontal) from the coordinates (at 1 km. south of geographic center of Serra do Araçá) to Rio Jauari, then used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of Rio Jauari at this latitude. To find the coordinates for offset at 11 km. east of Rio Jauari at this latitude: input coordinates, linear extent (of Serra do Araçá, 13486.3 m.), measurement error (.1 m.), offset direction (E), offset distance (11000 m.), and distance precision (100 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the offset coordinates and uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Offset: Offset from two Distinct Paths).
