Brazil. Maranhão. Nova Iorque Mun. ca. 30 km upstream along Parnaíba River from Guadalupe, or ca. 5 km east of Nova Iorque. At place called "Canavieira".

Habitat
On river bank in wet, medium-brown silty clay. Flowers: hypanthium light pale yellowish-green; petals small, pale light yellow; filaments golden-yellow; anthers reddish-brown; style light green. (In younger flowers all parts are light green with bright brownish-red anthers.).

Bushy shrub 3 m tall, crown 5 m diam., branches to ground level. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
