Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Unable to find the precise location of the Igarapé Irari; instead georeferenced to the approximate geographic midpoint of Rio Jandiatuba in São Paulo de Olivença, Amazonas. Referred to wikimapia website, "Foz do rio Jandiatuba," for locality information for Rio Jandiatuba (http://wikimapia.org/10593876/pt/Foz-do-rio-Jandiatuba-Amazonas). Using the reference map and Google Maps - Satellite View, located Rio Jandiatuba, a tributary of Rio Solimões. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line between the mouth of the river (at confluence of Rio Solimões and Rio Jandiatuba) and source of the river (approximated through the dense forest cover), then halved this distance to approximate the location of the midpoint of Rio Jandiatuba. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the midpoint of the river, on the adjacent riverbank. Input coordinates, linear extent (distance from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of Rio Jandiatuba, 173555 m.), and measurement error (1 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
