Habitat
Cultivated in yard of home for the edible seeds. Other trees have grown spontaneously, presumably from seeds produced by this tree.

Description
Tree, 20 m x 200 cm. Branched near base. Bark brown, the fissures not clearly aligned vertically but instead are more reticulate, the outer bark laminated. Calyx green, pedicel green, both glabrous; petals purple except white at base, the hood purple, the hood appendages with yellow at apices. Old flowers bleech white. Phenology of specimen: flower.
