Habitat

Non-flooded, lowland forest.

Description

Tree, 25 m x 25 cm, with low buttresses. Bark fissured, the outer bark orangish-brown, 2-3 mm thick, the inner bark red, much thicker. Lvs. markedly discolor, the abaxial surface with whitish tinge. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.

Notes (shown on label)

Tree sterile, but empty fruits still on ground and not rotted. Photos of fruit but these not collected. Tree 7297 in the Lecythidaceae Plot. Voucher for DNA collection from leaves.
