  • Description

    Pileus 1-3 cm broad, convex, dry, matted subtomentose to finely areolate, dark brown to brown. Flesh white to plae yellow, slowly and erratically bluing, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnate, sometimes with a subdecurrent tooth, yellow to dull yellow to dull greenish yellow, slowly and erratically changing to blue, with pores irregular, frequently radially elongate, erratically bluing. Stipe 2-5 cm long, 3-4 mm broad, equal, sometimes curved at the base, dry, finely subpruinose with pruina a pale caramel color, yellow at apex paler below to nearly white, yellow at base, with interior white at apex, pale red to rhubarb red below. Spores smooth.
