Description
Pileus 5-8 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, very finely matted (lens), deep orange (6A-B-C8), soon fading to pale brownish (6D6 to 6C-D5,4). Flesh pale orange (5A6), unchanging, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnate to adnexed, golden yellow (5B6), unchanging, with pores concolorous and stuffed when young, becoming slightly darker near 5C6) with age. Stipe 5-6 cm long, 1.5-2.3 cm broad, equal and strict or curved and tapering below mid-portion, dry, deep orange (5A8) with some hints and patches of yellow, even or with a short apical reticulum when young, otherwise subfibrillose streaked or ridged, dull grayish orange at base, with interior solid, nearest pale orange yellow (no match).
