Elevation 40 - 80 m. Karst topography. Voucher for PhD dissertation collected in experimental plots situated in abandoned pastures. The grass is a species imported from Brazil and planted in many improved pastures along the coast of Samand Bay. Specimen identified by T. A. Zanoni of the New York Botanical Garden.
