    Tropical semideciduous dry forest, secondary. Sympatric and flowering at the same time with Gustavia angustifolia Benth. Infrequent.

  • Description

    Tree. Many branched low tree, 3.5 m tall, c. 10 cm dbh, bark light brown. Crown open, the terminal branches producing new leaves. Inflorescences ramiflorous and terminal. Flower buds with petals abaxially violet; corolla purple-red at anthesis, stamens and pollen yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fertile.
