Description
succulent herb. Flowers 7 mm diam. Petals light blue with dark red ring around throat. Filaments stigma & style white; anthers light blue. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.

Alt. ca. 300 m. 22 May 1962 Main vegetation types of region: (l)flchapadan, decid- uous to evergreen xeromorphic tree woodland (ncerra- daon) on tops & sides of sandstone plateaus & some low flat land; (2)ntabuleiroft, deciduous low-tree woodland (another type of "cerradfo") on upper parts of rolling terrain; (3)nmatan, closed, deciduous to evergreen forest, in galleries; (4),lcaatinga?’, open deciduous forest on lower parts of rolling terrain; (5) »Varjao11, scattered deciduous forest-type trees on low flat land; (6)^cocal11, dense babagu palm groves on Parnafba River terrace & some brook val- leys. Dry season 4--5 months with almost no rain; brooks intermittent. .Annual fires & cattle graaing in all areas. Some spots with dènse secondary cha- pada scrub (Carrasco11); much tabuleiro cleared to form grassy pasture; much mata, caatinga & varjao in shifting cultivation.
